Notice biographique :

Frederic Lecouvet is Full Professor of Radiology at the Cliniques Universitaires Saint Luc, UCLouvain Medical School in Brussels. He is currently associate chair of the Department of Medical imaging, and chair of the Medical Imaging Research Pole of the Institut de Recherche Experimentale et Clinique at UCLouvain.

His activities combine clinical work, teaching and research. His areas of expertise include the use of MRI in tumoral and inflammatory musculoskeletal disorders, and the development of modern imaging to improve the detection and treatment of metastases of solid cancers and of multiple myeloma.

He is vice-chair of the Imaging Group within the European Organisation for the Research and Treatment of Cancer (EORTC) where he also leads the Bone Metastases and Oligometastatic Cancer Subcommittee. He gives annual lectures at the European congress of Radiology (ECR) and International Skeletal Society (ISS) meetings.  He is the author and co-author of 250+ peer-reviewed papers. He is an elected member of the Royal Academy of Medicine of Belgium.
